After 400 A.D. it began to be used for inscriptions on stones.
The stone was usually put up to commemorate
a dead person or some great deed.
Rolf and Eskil erected this stone after Livsten,
their father, who where dead in Skåne at Gårdstånga
and transfered him to Finnveden.
